12020-07-16T17:19:56+00:00Emma Adena Miller Rich6plain2020-07-29T20:18:49+00:00 Emma Adena Miller Rich (1888 -1967, OC 1912) was a social rights and women’s suffrage activist. In the 1912 Oberlin College Yearbook, Rich is described as, “One of those welcome faces that brings sunshine to life’s shadowed places.” A champion of women’s suffrage, she served as vice-president of the Illinois League of Women Voters from 1923 to 1926. Rich had organized programs for Jane Addams’ Hull House for many years. Beginning in 1935 until 1937, she served as the head resident of Jane Addams’ Hull House. Rich was also the supervisor of visitors for the Immigrants’ Protective League (IPL) and Director of the IPL from 1926 until 1954.
