By focusing on the role Oberlin alumni, students, faculty, and staff played in this historic event, we will document opportunities suffrage inspired toward women’s full participation in civic life. During the course of this program (the fourteen-month period from Fall 2019 through December 2020) we look forward to celebrating points of pride found in Oberlin women’s global leadership associated with the arts, literature, and athletics, in addition to their relationship to the fight for civil rights and women’s education. To advance the program, Libraries staff are developing educational materials and planning engaging events. Programmatic elements include digital exhibits, suggested research and readings, traveling displays, social media engagement, as well as activities open to campus and community members alike. We also look forward to partnering with other campus departments and community organizations.
